Hester Painting & Decorating Assists Lurie with Wall Protection for High Traffic Pattern Areas
Hester was asked to assist our client, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, with installing Koroseal FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Wall Protection that has wallcovering type patterns instead of the more traditional solid color most FRP’s come in. This gave the client the benefit of durable, sanitary, and moisture-resistant wall panels in their high traffic corridor areas. In addition, it allowed for a more eye appealing appearance over a bland solid color.
Our steps for installation were as follows: Product was installed throughout all the corridors and common space on the 9th and 8th floors @ Lurie’s Clark St. Outpatient care facility.
- Remove existing wallcovering and chair rail from above finished floor to 4’ in height.
- Patch, skim walls to a Level-4 finish, and prime walls to make ready for the FRP installations on both floors.
- Install the Koroseal Traffic Pattern’s FRP throughout both floors along with in-wall corner guards.
Our team at Hester is very proud of how this one turned out. It really made a tremendous change of how the corridors and common areas looked. It provided the client with a beautiful finished product. They are so pleased with the project that they are considering doing the same for other corridors in their building.
