At Hester Painting & Decorating, we provide wallpaper removal, washing paste from the surfaces, proper preparation, priming, applying wallpaper sizing, installing every kind of wallpaper, purchasing and installing liner paper (as needed per the manufacturer’s recommendation), and, of course, the actual installation of the wallpaper.
How long does wallpaper installation take?
The timeline for wallpaper installation depends on the room size, the product, and the amount of preparation needed. Every job is different.
Do I need to remove old wallpaper before installation?
Yes, existing wallpaper should be removed before installing new wallpaper. We do not recommend installing new wallpaper over existing wallpaper. This can create bubbling, seam separation, and other issues.
How do I prepare my walls before wallpaper installation?
You should remove existing wallpaper. Wash off the existing paste. Sand the walls to a smoother finish and patch all imperfections. Sand the walls again. Apply a proper base primer. Apply the manufacturer’s recommended wallpaper primer.
Will wallpaper damage my walls?
If your walls are prepared and primed correctly during wallpapering, future removal should cause minimal damage. This task should only be performed by professionals with years of experience.
How long does wallpaper last after installation?
If wallpaper is installed properly and the atmospheric conditions of the room are consistent and with low traffic, wallpaper could easily last a couple of decades.
Do wallpaper installers offer a warranty or guarantee?
