Hester Painting & Decorating is incredibly proud of our work on the Centennial Park West concert venue project in Orland Park, IL. As you can see from the project’s drone footage, this was a large commercial project that included both the interior and the exterior work. Not only was it a comprehensive and challenging scope, but it was also a very demanding project timeline due to their concert scheduling. Despite needing to work around many other contractors to complete the extensive work on time, our team successfully met the scheduling goal. One of the reasons our client, Reed Construction, prefers working with Hester Painting & Decorating on so many of their commercial painting projects is that they know they can count on us to provide the manpower and resources needed to meet their client’s deadline and expectations.
Scope of Work
Our scope of work consisted of the following:
Interior Scope
The interior scope encompassed a 2,200 sq. ft. space featuring a full-service kitchen/lounge, three individual band rooms, and a band management office, each accented with unique colors. Additional areas included a dressing room with five single-use bathrooms, two showers, and hollow metal doors and frames finished with enamel throughout the new space. Our team sprayed 1,251 sq. ft. of exposed interior ceilings in two storage rooms and two mechanical rooms. The project also involved block-filling and finishing CMU and concrete walls from floor to ceiling.
Exterior Scope
The exterior scope covered 5,862 sq. ft. of structural steel, finished with a High-Performance Coating System, including Macropoxy 646, a two-component fast-cure epoxy, and Sher-Loxane 800, a two-component polysiloxane. The same coating system was applied to 3,263 sq. ft. of exposed decking and structural steel on the performance stage and 2,599 sq. ft. backstage, including exterior hollow metal doors, frames, garbage corrals, and backstage handrails and guardrails. The scope extended from ground level to 14 ft. backstage and up to 40 ft. on the performance stage, with some areas requiring boom lifts to reach heights of up to 80 ft. All work was safely executed using mobile elevated work platforms, including 80 ft.-120 ft. boom lifts and various scissor lifts.
