When Hester Painting & Decorating received the call to help renovate a bank built in 1925 into a boutique hotel, they knew quality and attention to detail were going to be of the utmost importance. Building on their experience and the proven track records of the products used, Hester Painting knew that they had to get the job right the first time to ensure a long service life for the customer.
The age of the building provided its fair share of issues. To ensure proper readiness, Hester’s crew needed to repair and patch walls all over the jobsite before using appropriate primers. A number of skills were required to complete the project. In addition to painted walls, floor epoxy and wallcoverings were part of the scope of the project. Due to the building being 90 years old, wax removers were needed to remove years of buildup. This step was necessary to avoid imperfections in the finish coat.
To complete the project on time and within budget, PDCA Standard P7 was utilized to ensure all trades on the job were informed. PDCA Standard P5 was also an important part of completing the project.
In recognition of Hester Painting and Decorating award-worthy work, the owner of the hotel stated, “Recognition of Hester’s workmanship is deserved on this landmark project. The repurposing of this building into a revenue-creating business gave this small community the ability to be self-sufficient.
