PDCA Distinguishes Firm for Expert Residential Specialty Project
SKOKIE, Ill. (Feb. 11, 2011)—Hester Painting & Decorating impressed The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) yet again to receive its eleventh Picture it Painted Professional (PIPP) Award. The Chicago-area, high-end painting, wallcovering installation and faux-finishing company was recognized for its work on a new dream Master Bedroom in Glenview. The experienced four-man crew worked for three months to complete the master suite.
The PDCA’s PIPP Awards honor interior and exterior professional painting and decorating work in residential, commercial and industrial categories. Specialists judge projects on use of color, specialty painting techniques, unusual treatments, safety management, and overall creativity, skill and execution.
The Master Bedroom walls where done in a Venetian Plaster with a Damask pattern inlay with a gold powdered wax finish. This made the room old world looking as if the walls where a beautiful damask pattern Venetian plaster that had worn through out the years in an old church or castle.
The master bathroom was even more challenging with all the different cabinet tones the client picked for the vanity’s and the tile work with pewter tile inlays we at Hester Painting & Decorating picked a White Gold Leaf on the barreled ceiling area with a slight wash of brown glaze. And on the walls we used a 4 step mottled glaze finish with a top coat of pewter powdered glaze.
